Apply now: Certificate in "IT-Law and Legal Informatics"
Whether as extra-occupational qualification or additional qualification alongside your studies: the certificate programme will provide you with in-depth knowledge of digital society's most relevant legal questions and fundamental technical principles. The certificate is aimed at students of all faculties at Saarland University as well as external applicants. The courses will mainly be held online. Registration is open until March 31!
Copying, faxing, scanning - where does e-justice stand?
On March 18, a virtual workshop on the topic of "e-justice" shed light on the state of digital justice in German-speaking countries. Renowned experts from Switzerland, Austria and Germany reported on hurdles and successes on the way to e-justice. Professor Georg Borges moderated the exciting event, which took place as an IRI§ Spring Trimester in cooperation with the German EDV-Gerichtstag and the Research Meets Practice (ReMeP) platform.
IRI§ Spring Trimester: Virtual E-Justice Workshop
On Thursday, March 18, from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m, Professor Georg Borges will lead the virtual workshop "E-Justice" . The workshop will explore the topic of e-justice in Austria, Germany and Switzerland from the perspective of judges and judicial officers. The event is being held in cooperation with the German EDV-Gerichtstag (German Conference in IT in the Judiciary) and the Research Meets Practice (ReMeP) platform. Beck's online commentary "IT Law" now published
The online commentary on "IT Law", which is jointly edited by Professor Dr. Georg Borges and Dr. Marc Hilber, LL.M. attorney and partner at Oppenhoff & Partner, has been published. The work examines the multifaceted development of IT law, which is constantly undergoing change as a result of digitalization. The detailed work is intended to support lawyers in their everyday practice. The online commentary is now available from the "beck-online" database.
Record-breaking: The Institute at IRIS conference
With a record-breaking number of participants, the Institute of Legal Informatics enriched the International Legal Informatics Symposium IRIS. From February 25 to 27, legal experts presented current developments and research findings from the field of legal informatics. The focus of the conference was the exchange of information on legal dogmatics, technical, economic, social and philosophical issues of law in the knowledge economy. Members of the Institute gave eight lectures and chaired three working groups.
