Lecture series: The rights of a GDPR data subject in practice
On Tuesday, November 30, attorney-at-law Dr. Carlo Piltz will give a lecture on „The rights of a GDPR data subject in practice". From 6:15 to 7:45 p.m., the partner of Piltz Rechtsanwälte PartGmbB in Berlin will be the guest speaker of the public lecture series "Data Protection in Practice". Institute of Legal Informatics welcomes new LL.M. students
Hamburg, Augsburg, Cologne - on November 12, students of the Master's programme "Information Technology and Law“ from all over Germany came to Saabrücken for the welcoming event of the LL.M. „IT and Law“. Professor Dr. Georg Borges welcomed roughly 20 „newcomers" on campus and nearly 70 LL.M. participants online. Thus, with more than twice as many participants as in the previous cohort, the successful LL.M. programme started into its third round in the current winter semester.
November 25: The Law of Artificial Intelligence
In a post ICAIL 2021 event, Professor Dr. Georg Borges will give a lecture on Thursday, November 25, between 11 am and 2 pm. Other speakers who will talk on artificial intelligence and law include Loren Spindola, Professor Ana Frazão, Professor Giovanni Sartor, and Cari Hyde-Vaamonde. The International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Law (ICAIL) is the primary international conference addressing research in artificial intelligence and law. Join us online! Hybrid Lecture: Explainable AI and Society
On Thursday, October 21 at 6:15 p.m., Prof. Dr. Georg Borges will give a lecture under the heading "Discrimination by AI systems: An Analysis from a Legal Perspective" as part of the interdisciplinary and hybrid lecture series "Explainable AI and Society" of the EIS project at Saarland University (Building E1 1, Room 4.07). Among other topics, the lecture will address the limits of legal protection against discrimination as well as the chances of detecting the former in machine decisions.
