Prof. Dr. Georg Borges used his lecture to talk about the discussion begun by the former Justice Minister, Heiko Maas, on the creation of a law for  algorithms. He also considered application errors, the legal concerns raised by the evaluation of humans by machines and how errors in such evaluation should be dealt with. He made the point that the main challenge lies in the distinction between (inadmissible) discrimination and (admissible) unequal treatment.
