On 12th July 2017, the Data Protection Commissioner, Monika Grethel, who leads Saarland’s independent Data Protection Centre, gave a lecture entitled "Beware of the camera – drones, dash cams and video surveillance from a Data Protection perspective" as part of the Institute of Legal Informatics' public lecture series "Practical applications of Data Protection Law".
The extremely informative lecture contained many relevant practical examples which triggered a lively discussion in the auditorium. Frau Grethel was able to give a real insight into the daily workings of a Data Protection Authority.
