Successful and virtual: The 15th a-i3/BSI Symposium
The 15th a-i3/BSI Symposium took place from November 25th to the 26th. Under the heading "IT Security in IoT, Blockchain and AI", renowned speakers from the research and practice areas designed two exciting days. With 130 registrations, the interdisciplinary event of the Working Group Identity Protection on the Internet (a-i3) in cooperation with the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) proved to be a successful virtual symposium.
LL.M. "IT and Law": Moving into the second round
Since an in-person event was unfortunately not permitted, the Institute of Legal Informatics welcomed the new participants of the master's program "Information Technology and Law" virtually - but just as formally. In a festive digital event, Institute Director Professor Dr. Georg Borges warmly welcomed the "newcomers" on November 13th.
Modern administration – data protection friendly please
On November 3, Professor Dr. Christoph Sorge took part in a panel discussion in an online conference, "Digital State Online". The topic was the draft bill of the Federal Ministry of the Interior on the Register Modernization Act. Together with the Federal Data Protection Commissioner, Professor Dr. Ulrich Kelber, he criticized the planned use of the tax identification number as a personal identification number that can be used by all authorities.
LL.M. program "IT and Law": register by November 30
With almost 30 registrations, the master’s program "IT and Law" has entered its second round of admissions. In light of the pandemic, the Institute of Legal Informatics has decided to accept further interested students. The LL.M. program is aimed at graduates of all disciplines and for the first time is being held largely online. It is therefore also suitable as an in-service training program in the field of IT law and Legal Informatics.
How safe are passport photos from forgery?
On October 26, Professor Dr. Georg Borges participated as an invited expert in the expert hearing of the German Bundestag. The topic of the hearing was the Federal Government's draft bill to strengthen security in the passport, ID card and foreigner law document system.
