On May 19 and May 20 a two- day conference featured highly compelling presentations on the topic of: "Algorithms, Automation and Work - How AI can improve our work and daily lives." Among the speakers was the Institutes Director, Professor Georg Borges. In the panel "Black-Box AI - How does AI become controllable?" he showed that AI can bring great benefits if applied appropriately.

The drafting of contracts confronts companies in Industry 4.0 with new legal issues. Industry 4.0 is increasingly transforming the work environment, including the formation of contracts. But is it possible for machines to form contracts? How legally secure are they? And who is responsible if machines err? On April 14, the Legal-Testbed project will be featured at the Hannover Messe. As part of the panel discussion "Legal-testbed - for the (legally) secure implementation of Industrie 4.0", Professor Georg Borges will discuss the above with project partners.
