On 5 July 2017, Dr. Fabian Nieman, who is a Partner at the international law firm Bird & Bird, gave a lecture as part of the Institute of Legal Informatics’ public lecture series "Practical applications of Data Protection Law" in which he explained the circumstances in which data breaches in companies must be reported.

On 5th July 2017, the ARD-Business programme 'plusminus' featured a report  about interactive children’s toys in which Stefan Hessel, a student research assistant at Institute Director Prof. Dr. Christoph Sorge’s Chair, highlighted security loopholes.

The Institute of Legal Informatics took part in the Saarland University’s open day which was held on 24th June 2017. Various projects including "GesetzMobil" (legislation on-the-go) and a project relating to data security in automated houses were presented to visitors.

At 13:30 on Wednesday 12th July 2017 there will be an Information Event for the Institute for Legal Informatics' Certificate "IT Law and Legal Informatics" study programme.

On Thursday 22nd June 2017, a Conference on Information Technology in the Judiciary’s symposium on the legal and technical implementation of the eIDAS-Regulation in Germany took place in Berlin einem  zur rechtlichen und technischen Umsetzung der eIDAS-Verordnung in Deutschland statt. Prof. Borges spoke on the subject of "Questions of evidence in relation to Trusted Services".

BMAS: ExamAI – KI Testing & Auditing
