On January 28, Professor Christoph Sorge gave a presentation on "Technical aspects of data protection-compliant digital identities" as part of the 16th European Data Protection Day at the invitation of Monica Grethel, the Saarland Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information. The event of the Conference of Independent Federal and State Data Protection Supervisors (DSK) was held under the heading "The digital wallet in the EU - data protection nightmare or milestone for shaping Europe's digital future?". 

Automated contracting has been part of commercial relationships in business and the industry for a long time. However, these interactions between machines raise intricate legal and IT security issues. Looking to remove these hurdles, the "Industry 4.0 Legal-Testbed" project is conducting research in a consortium of four partners to develop new intelligent systems. On January 19, Professor Dr. Georg Borges gave an insight into the current state of research.

"New standard contractual clauses for data transfers to third countries" will be the topic of Katrin Kirchert's lecture on Tuesday, January 11, from 6:15 to 7:45 pm. On December 13, Artificial intelligence and data protection - was the cutting-edge topic of the DatenTag ONLINE. High-ranking experts presented exciting theses and facts on the benefits and risks of artificial intelligence with regard to data protection law. Professor Dr. Georg Borges presented his expert opinion under the heading of "Potentials of Artificial Intelligence with regard to Data Protection Law" which initiated a fruitful discussion on the topic.
