On Friday, October 21, Professor Dr. Georg Borges will give a lecture on Liability for AI – Current Developments in EU Law. The University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada, has extended the invitation. Borges will give an overview of the long-awaited AI Liability Directive proposed by the EU Commission on September 28, 2022, and explore whether it can live up to expectations. "Automation of Business Relationships in Industry and Business" – Professor Dr. Georg Borges will open this year's ReMeP conference in Vienna as keynote speaker on September 5, 2022 at 9:30 am with his keynote on this topic. The ReMeP – Research Meets Practice – IT conference takes place annually. This year’s hybrid conference focusses on "Integrated Platform Solutions for Industry 4.0".

Law DIGITAL will be the topic of this year´s International Legal Informatics Symposium, IRIS 2022 held from February 23 to 26. The rich and compelling programme, designed by renowned legal experts, will mark an anniversary of cutting-edge topics between law and informatics. Professor Dr. Georg Borges will give a presentation in the "Robotics and Artificial Intelligence I" session, on Feb. 24, 2 p.m. and Dr. Andreas Sesing-Wagenpfeil will present on Feb. 24, 4:30 p.m. Members of the chair of Professor Dr. Chrtistoph Sorge will also be among the contributors. Automated contracting has been part of commercial relationships in business and the industry for a long time. However, these interactions between machines raise intricate legal and IT security issues. Looking to remove these hurdles, the "Industry 4.0 Legal-Testbed" project is conducting research in a consortium of four partners to develop new intelligent systems. On January 19, Professor Dr. Georg Borges gave an insight into the current state of research.

On December 13, Artificial intelligence and data protection - was the cutting-edge topic of the DatenTag ONLINE. High-ranking experts presented exciting theses and facts on the benefits and risks of artificial intelligence with regard to data protection law. Professor Dr. Georg Borges presented his expert opinion under the heading of "Potentials of Artificial Intelligence with regard to Data Protection Law" which initiated a fruitful discussion on the topic.
