a-i3/BSI Symposium 2018
The 13tha-i3/BSI Symposium on the subject of "Protection of personality in times of IT-(in)-security" took place at the Centre for IT-Security in Bochum on the 20thand 21stMarch. Both Prof. Dr. Georg Borges and Prof. Dr. Christoph Sorge took part in this event.
In his lecture, Prof. Sorge addressed technical security measures in light of the Basic Data Protection Regulation. He identified Art. 32 as being the central provision and paid particular attention to the catalogue of measures set out in paragraph 1. Prof. Sorge noted that the main challenge lies in the specification of the goals and measures set out in Art. 32 of the Basic Data Protection Regulation. In conclusion, he demonstrated a potential conflict between the achievement of IT-Security and data protection.
