Lectures by Prof. Dr. Christoph Sorge

Law DIGITAL will be the topic of this year´s International Legal Informatics Symposium, IRIS 2022 held from February 23 to 26. The rich and compelling programme, designed by renowned legal experts, will mark an anniversary of cutting-edge topics between law and informatics. Professor Dr. Georg Borges will give a presentation in the "Robotics and Artificial Intelligence I" session, on Feb. 24, 2 p.m. and Dr. Andreas Sesing-Wagenpfeil will present on Feb. 24, 4:30 p.m. Members of the chair of Professor Dr. Chrtistoph Sorge will also be among the contributors. The 13tha-i3/BSI Symposium on the subject of "Protection of personality in times of IT-(in)-security" took place at the Centre for IT-Security in Bochum on the 20thand 21stMarch. Both Prof. Dr. Georg Borges and Prof. Dr. Christoph Sorge took part in this event.

In his lecture, Prof. Sorge addressed  technical security measures in light of the Basic Data Protection Regulation. He identified Art. 32 as being the central provision and paid particular attention to the catalogue of measures set out in paragraph 1. Prof. Sorge noted that the main challenge lies in the specification of the goals and measures set out in Art. 32 of the Basic Data Protection Regulation.  In conclusion, he demonstrated a potential conflict between the achievement of IT-Security and data protection.
